Some spaces are built from blueprints.
Others are built from lived experience.
Our new Altered States Wellness location in Euless is the second kind.
When we sat down with Richie and Nicole, along with their daughter Bri, we expected to talk about timelines, buildout progress, and grand opening plans. Instead, we found ourselves in a conversation about anxiety, sobriety, perseverance, and what it looks like to turn personal transformation into something that serves other people.
To understand this location, you have to understand the story behind it.
A Transformation That Became a Foundation
Richie shared openly about living with anxiety and the weight he was carrying, physically and emotionally. He talked about choosing sobriety and what that commitment required of him over time.
He also shared about losing more than 100 pounds.
But what stood out in the conversation wasn’t the number. It was the discipline behind it. The daily decisions. The consistency. The quiet rebuilding of self-trust.
There was a moment during the episode where I (JoJo) felt myself getting emotional. Not because the story was dramatic, but because it was steady and real. There was no exaggeration. Just honesty.
And in that honesty, it became clear that this studio wasn’t born from ambition alone.
It was born from experience.
From someone deciding to change their life and then choosing to create a space where others could do the same.
Building a Space That Feels Safe
When Nicole spoke about their vision for Euless, one word kept coming up: accessibility.
They don’t want wellness to feel exclusive. Or intimidating. Or reserved for a certain type of person. They want someone walking through the doors on a hard day to feel like they belong.
That vision shaped some intentional decisions.
This location will include a sober bar.
Not as a novelty. Not as a trend.
But because they understand how important it is to have spaces where connection doesn’t revolve around alcohol. They’re even planning Soberokee nights, creating opportunities for people to gather, laugh, and build community in a way that aligns with their story.
It’s thoughtful. And it’s personal.
A Family Effort
This isn’t just Richie and Nicole’s project.
Their daughter Bri will be stepping in as General Manager. She’s currently studying marriage and family counseling, and her perspective brings another layer to this space.
Listening to her talk about emotional regulation, communication patterns, and relational health, you realize this studio is being built with intention beyond the services offered.
It’s not just about recovery tools.
It’s about culture. About creating an environment where people feel supported physically and emotionally.
There’s something powerful about a family building something together, especially when that “something” is rooted in their own journey.
The Long Season of Waiting
Richie and Nicole were our third franchisees to sign on with Altered States Wellness.
And then came the waiting.
Permits. Construction. Buildout delays. The long middle that every entrepreneur knows well.
It’s been nearly a year in the making.
That season requires patience and belief. It requires staying committed to a vision when there isn’t much visible progress yet.
They stayed steady.
And now, as opening day approaches, it feels earned.
What’s Coming to Euless, TX
The Euless location coming to Glade Parks is also introducing something new to the Altered States lineup: a full salt cave experience with halotherapy.
Not a design feature. Not a small add-on.
An immersive cave designed to support respiratory health, deep relaxation, and nervous system regulation.
It’s an exciting addition.
But what makes this location special isn’t just the salt cave or the sober bar.
It’s the story behind it.
This studio grew out of a hard season. Out of discipline. Out of a family choosing to turn personal transformation into something that serves others.
If you haven’t listened to the full episode yet, we invite you to press play.
And if you’re near Euless, we can’t wait for you to walk through those doors and experience what they’ve built.
Some spaces are built from blueprints.
This one was built from something bigger.
